This app allows the users to explore the outdoor planet walk exhibit designed by the Discovery Center of Idaho. The planet walk exhibit is a scale model of our Solar System located along a 1.7 mile long stretch by the picturesque Boise green belt.
Along the walk the planets are marked with special posts corresponding to the distance from the Sun. The Sun exhibit is located inside the Discovery Center building. The Discovery Center has deployed beacons at each planet location.
The DCI Planets app will notify the user as the user nears a planet and also will provide location specific links about the planets to explore and learn further. The app also records and provides a visual log of all visited planets.
Although this app is primarily designed to enhance the experience of the visitors to the DCI, we hope that anyone walking along the green belt can take advantage of the app.
App requires Bluetooth and Notification Center on the device to be enabled.
